Message from chairman
"In fact, Japan was the" most wasteful "country."
The food problem surrounding Japan is slow but surely growing seriousness. The food self-sufficiency rate is sluggish at 40%, and we can not maintain the Japanese table unless we rely on imported ingredients. Moreover, with the development of the global economy in recent years, carnivorous use of a large amount of grain is advanced in developing countries, furthermore overfishing of fish and soaring prices of imported fruits and so on are overlapping, and the appearance of former food importing power country Niigon I am showing it.
On the other hand, it is clear that 'food loss', which can be eaten yet, reaches 6.32 million tons. This means that it is doubling the amount of food aid worldwide, one daily rice per citizen every day (*).
Actually, many of Japan's food losses are recycled to fertilizer and feed, and if you combine the unable to eat, the proportion will reach 85%. However, the recycling rate of the restaurant industry where Doggie Bag is not popular is only 24%.
Doggie bags, which we tackle to spread, may solve various problems related to food loss. One is solving environmental problems when food loss is incinerated/landfilled. The second is the waste reduction due to waste of resources. And the third is the relationship with people involved in food, and the fourth is the solution to health problems due to overeating.
The best cuisine that the chef put in with frankness, the heartfelt cooking that my mother made. Everyone feels uncomfortable to throw these away. On the other hand, there may be times when you want to take it back but you may be honored. However, those leftovers are discarded unless they are brought back.
While feeling embarrassed about takeaway, Japanese people also feel guilty about their disposal. In the questionnaire conducted by the committee, while 99% agreed to take home the leftovers of education, only 57% actually took home. In a survey carried out by the committee overseas as well, nearly 100% agreed to take away, and it became clear that the people who actually took home talked with each other in 93%.
Under such awareness of the problem, our committee cherishes the feelings of those who want to take home without wanting to bring home, while having a pleasant relationship with the people who make meals and farmers and the side that eats We are promoting dissemination activities so that we can do doggie bags "voluntarily" "casually" "fashionable" and "safely" to aim for making.
It would be a pleasure if this committee would serve even a little to create a lucrative idea of food problems.

Doggie bags, which are "takeaway containers", are not spreading due to insufficient coordination among the various bodies such as the administration, production, production, distribution, and consumption. It is environmentally friendly, prevents overeating, effectively utilizes resources, and also gives tribute to the producers.
In order to promote an ideal food culture through such a doggy bag, we will establish the "Doggie Bag Promotion Committee" based on the following policy.
(1) Indicate action guidelines for consumers to implement doggy bags.
(2) We propose management improvement from the viewpoint of social responsibility (CSR) by supporting the efforts of doggy bags of restaurant service industry.
(3) Promote information provision to mass media and various types of institutions through information exchange, collaborative research, lectures, etc. with administrative organs, various organizations and individuals concerning the spread of doggy bags.
